Podcaster Prakhar Gupta Accuses IndiGo of Bribe Offer Over Deleted Complaint Post

Prakhar Gupta, a popular podcaster, has accused IndiGo of mishandling his flight schedule and later offering him ₹6,000 as a bribe to delete his critical post on X (formerly Twitter). In his series of posts on X, Gupta detailed his frustration with the airline, claiming they rescheduled his flight without proper notice, closed check-in counters early, and compelled him to purchase a new ticket.

Gupta shared his ordeal, saying:
“Dear @IndiGo6E, how do you change a flight time and PREPONE it, 2.5 hours before the flight at 4 AM in the morning, expect me to make it on time, and then when I do get there 5 minutes behind on the NEW TIME, you do not let me check in my bag and make me pay for a new flight?”

He alleged that he received no email notification about the time change and only a single text message at 4 AM informing him that the flight, originally scheduled for 6:45 AM, was preponed to 6:30 AM. Gupta further criticized the airline for closing the check-in counters based on the revised timing, leaving him no choice but to buy a new ticket.

In his post, Gupta also called out the behavior of IndiGo’s staff, accusing them of being rude and unprofessional. He said that while resolving his issue, the staff members were playing private voice messages on speaker and laughing, which he described as “distasteful.” He also found the price adjustment for the new ticket suspicious, stating:
“The lady literally began with, ‘Sir, the actual charge of this change is ₹40,000, but I will charge you only the minimum price, ₹3,000 per customer.’ A 90% discount? Instantly?”

IndiGo Responds
IndiGo responded to his complaints on X, stating:
“Mr. Gupta, we are currently looking into this and will reach out to you soon to resolve the matter.”

However, Gupta later alleged that IndiGo tried to bribe him with ₹6,000 to delete his original post. He claimed that no apology—written or verbal—was offered to him despite the airline’s headquarters getting involved.
“Hi Navi, your team tried to bribe me with ₹6,000 to remove this post. No apology, either written or verbal, issued. However, safe to say that social media pressure does work. Apparently, Indigo HQ is now involved, but no help has been offered,” Gupta said in a follow-up post.

The incident has garnered significant attention on social media, with many users expressing their own grievances with flight rescheduling and customer service issues in the airline industry.
